Student Book Recommendations

Calling all Student Readers!  Do you have a book that you absolutely love and you think other students will enjoy as well?  If so, let Miss Ballistreri know!
Madison recommends the book January 1905 by Katharine Boling because it is a "thumbs-up" book that has good lessons on friendship.
Billy recommends the book Wonder Struck by Brian Selznick  because it is a fantastic book about two children connected in a very interesting way and it's the best book he's ever read.
Nicolette recommends the book we read in class, Queen of the Falls by Chris Van Allsburg because the main character, Annie Taylor, was brave enough to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel.
Krista wants to recommend a non-fiction book: Cat Breeds by Paddy Cutts because it has a lot of interesting information on a large number of cat breeds.
Brandon recommends the book Tonight on the Titanic (a Magic Treehouse book by Mary Pope Osborne).  It is a great story about Jack and Annie trying to save people from the Titanic.
Austin recommends a book that Miss B. also really loves: Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo.  It is a fantastic novel about a preacher and a little girl who finds a dog that changes their lives. 
Ryan wants to recommend a non-fiction book: Heroes of  9-11 because it is a good book that has a lot of details about the events of September 11th.
Camille recommends the book The Batboy by Mike Lupica.  It's a good story about a batboy who is very good at baseball.
Brianna recommends the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series because they are her favorite books and she likes how it begins with: "First of all, let me get this straight: this is a JOURNAL and not a diary!" 
Jaden recommends Strider by Beverly Cleary because it is a great book about a dog and two best friends.  Jaden thinks the books teaches some great life lessons.
Kevin recommends The Last Olympian (from the Percy Jackson series) because it's a cool book that has a lot of action in it.
Nate recommends The Eye of the Crow because it's about a crow that has the eye of a hawk.  Cool booK!
